Goats:

We’ve found our goats charming animals, full of character. The females don’t smell if looked after properly and the milk tastes great. Goats become fond of their keepers and the keepers of them and they can be lovely animals for children to be around. In many ways they are the ideal animal for our project.

They provide us with a regular supply of fresh milk and we’ve been experimenting with yogurt, ice cream and cheese-making.

Chickens:

Our chickens provide the Growers with fresh, organic, free-range eggs. We’re able to sell our surplus to help cover costs.

It is a pleasure to watch our birds scratching around or having a good dust bath. They suffer fewer diseases than commercial chickens and can follow their normal behaviour patterns with plenty of space to roam. 

Ducks:

Our free range ducks enjoy foraging around the paddock with the goats. They too supply us with eggs.
